Behringer Solina vs Solina software clones
A comparison between Behringer Solina String Ensemble and three different Solina software clones: Arturia Solina V2 (virtual analog), UVI String Machines 2 (sampled based) and a Solina sample pack från BiggaGiggas (samples).
The settings used in all examples is all instruments, ensemble on, medium bass volume, medium crescendo and medium release.
Some of the instruments are made to shine in stereo but for the sake of comparison everything is in here in mono, just as the original Solina was made as well as the hardware Behringer clone. No external processing such EQ has been applied but small settings on the instruments to reproduce about the same sound as close as possible and volume matching.
The purpose of the comparison is to show the different character of the hardware Solina clone and some Solina software clones.

Very educational. And confirming what I've come to finally understand with many standard synths. A lot of what people attribute to the unique sounds of each has to do with the presets programmed by the factory. Architecture matters but a square wave with similar filter cutoff and resonance on each are going to sound much more the same than different.

Nice improvisation! Also, nice studio! You have a Prophet 5/10, an Oberheim OB-X8, a Minimoog, AND a Fender Rhodes, MS-20, Arp 2600, TB303, and LinnDrum? WOW!!!! SWEET!!! That's quite an investment there in what are among some of the BEST synths ever made! BTW, I like the sound of that LinnDrum too. Totally '80s.

Owner of both! For my uses, I find the Prophet tends to sit better as the foundation of my mixes, while the Oberheim tends to shine best when it’s programmed to be front and center. Both are stellar instruments! Cheers!

With an OB-6 would these sounds sound as good?
OB-6 is a great synth as well as the new TEO-5. You should be able to make similar sounds on these. A part of the sound is the reverb. I use Lexicon PCM-80 with a hall of 15 seconds, but would work great with other reverbs such Blackhole etc. Another central part of the sound is the use of the filter that I control with a foot pedal. No, I rarely use factory presets at synths but personalize them with my own sounds that fit my way to play. I’ve made these presets.

It's like asking Corvette Stingray or Porsche 911. Both vintage sports cars, but that's where a lot of the similarities stop. These synths have completely different circuitry, they don't really compare. Each has their place and everyone has their preference. For me? The Stingray!

Prophet 5 - tight, snappy OB-X8 - elastic, pliable Respectively, each just barely more than the other. Both equally magnificent - but more magnificent is that you have both within an arm’s reach. I’ve got the P10rev4 but, for now, will have to “settle” for my OB-6. First-world problems are a bitch. Nicely demonstrated, sir. Cheers!

If I had a rack of synthesizers around me, I'd want them all to be Sequential instruments. They re-introduced the Prophet-5 (and a single-deck Prophet-10), and I hope they reintroduce the Pro-1 mono synth, but maybe remaking all of their old gear isn't really part of the Sequential game plan... new stuff can be made, too.
I would rather mix Sequential synths with other synths to make them stand out. At other hand different Sequential synths has different qualities

soft brass and brass 5th go to the OB-x8... the soft pad and the bass sound go to the Prophet 5 i don't know if the keybeds differ but your playing (amazing btw) seems to be funkier on the Prophet 5
I don’t know if the keybed are the same or not, but I experience the keybed of the Prophet 5 as slightly better to my personal taste.
